EuroMillions: UK winner scoops £24m lottery jackpot | UK News

A single UK ticket-holder has won the £24m EuroMillions jackpot in Friday’s lottery draw.

The lucky winner rocketed overnight into the multi-millionaires club by matching all five main numbers – 04, 19, 23, 35, 37 – and the two bonus numbers of 04 and 08.

It is the second time a UK ticket-holder has won the EuroMillions jackpot this month.

Andy Carter of the National Lottery said on Friday: “What a fantastic night for UK EuroMillions players, as a single ticket-holder has bagged tonight’s life-changing £24m jackpot.

“That makes it two UK EuroMillions jackpot wins so far this month, after another lucky ticket-holder won the £33m jackpot in the draw on 5 July.”

Thunderball jackpot winner from Scotland thought he had dreamt numbers coming up | UK News

A man has told how his dream quite literally came true after he discovered he had won the Thunderball jackpot prize of £500,000.

Recently retired British Gas worker Raymond Young, from Edinburgh, initially checked his ticket while half-asleep.

The next morning, the 63-year-old assumed he had dreamt that his numbers had come up – but realised he had indeed won the top prize after checking the ticket with a fresh pair of eyes.

Mr Young, who has used the same Thunderball numbers since the lottery spin-off launched nearly 25 years ago, has already bought himself a new car and a holiday home since pocketing his winnings from the 23 March draw.

He said: “I had woken up in the middle of the night and randomly decided to check my numbers, which led me to see that I had won the top prize.

“I must have still been half-asleep though as in the morning I genuinely thought it was all a dream.

“So when I decided to have another check in the morning, this time fully awake, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw that I was still a winner.”

Mr Young has bought a static caravan and has chosen a “beautiful spot on the coast” for it.

He added: “I can’t wait to start going there with my family and friends.”

Mr Young bought his winning ticket from the Keystore, known locally as Fordel Services, in Dalkeith, Midlothian.

His winning numbers were 12, 14, 17, 25, 29 and the Thunderball was 14.

He celebrated his luck with a trip to his childhood holiday destination in Blackpool, which he has visited throughout his life.

Mr Young said: “For me, Blackpool has and will always be a home from home. It holds such special memories and I just love visiting a few times a year.

“I’ve been going there my whole life, from playing on the beach as a kid to staying with friends over the last decade, so it just had to be the place I chose to celebrate my win.”

Wednesday’s lottery jackpot worth more than £12m | UK News

The jackpot for Wednesday’s lottery is worth £12.7m after no one claimed Saturday’s top prize.

The winning numbers from draw machine Merlin were 25, 28, 37, 38, 42, 50 and the bonus number was 6.

Two lucky ticket holders bagged £1m after matching five numbers, plus the bonus number.

And more than 103,000 Lotto players saw their prize money double from £30 to £60 after matching three or six numbers.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at The National Lottery, said Wednesday’s draw promises to be an exciting one for players.

He called the sum a “life-changing prize”.

Once again, no one was able to grab the £500,000 Thunderball top prize, but three winners did scoop £5,000 after matching five numbers.

The winning Thunderball numbers were 2, 12, 16, 17, 32 and the Thunderball number was 04.

One UK ticket-holder has won the £111.7m jackpot in tonight’s EuroMillions draw, Camelot said.

Players have been urged to check their tickets to see if they won the prize in Friday’s draw.

The winning numbers are 03, 12, 15, 25, 43.

The Lucky Stars are 10 and 11.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at the National Lottery, said: “What a fantastic night for UK EuroMillions players, as a single ticket-holder has scooped tonight’s special £111.7m EuroMillions jackpot.

“Players are urged to check their tickets and to give us a call if they think they are tonight’s lucky winner.”

Only a handful of UK players have won more than £100m in a EuroMillions jackpot.

UK ticket-holder wins £171m EuroMillions jackpot – check your numbers here | UK News

A UK ticket-holder has won more than £171m with the EuroMillions jackpot – the third biggest National Lottery win of all time, Camelot has said.

Tonight’s National Lottery EuroMillions winning numbers were: 14, 15, 22, 35, 48.

The Lucky Stars were: 03, 08.

One UK millionaire has been created with a winning code of: HJML89118.

Only 16 people in the UK have won more than £100m, putting the latest winners in an elite group.

Camelot’s Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at The National Lottery, said: “What an amazing night for one UK ticket-holder who has scooped the giant £171 million EuroMillions jackpot.

“This winner has just become the third biggest National Lottery winner of all time and the sixth UK EuroMillions jackpot winner this year alone.

“Players are urged to check their tickets and to give us a call if they think they are tonight’s lucky winner.”

But they won’t surpass two previous record holders – winners Joe and Jess Thwaite, a couple from Gloucester, who revealed their identities after winning £184m on the EuroMillions back in May.

Mr Thwaite, who bought the ticket, said: “Generally my luck is pretty terrible, to be honest with you.”

Meanwhile, the UK’s biggest winner of £195 million chose not to go public, after winning in July.

What can you buy with £171 million?

The winner is now richer than Adele (who is worth £150m) – and £171 million will go an unsurprisingly long way.

They could buy 585 houses, based on the latest UK average. Or if luxury property is more their thing, they can now buy three Mayfair townhouses – complete with gym and library – and still have change to spare.

UK ticket wins £110m EuroMillions jackpot | UK News

A UK ticketholder has won Friday’s £110m EuroMillions jackpot, Camelot says.

The winning numbers were 07, 12, 13, 20 and 45 – while the Lucky Stars were 03 and 12.

Andy Carter, Camelot’s senior winners’ adviser at the National Lottery, said: “Players are urged to check their tickets and to give us a call if they think they are tonight’s lucky winner.

“Thanks to National Lottery players, more than £30m is generated every week for good causes across the country.

“This supports everything from local projects making a difference where you live, to our nations’ athletes at the recent Commonwealth Games.”

Only 15 UK players have ever won a jackpot of more than £100m, with the record-holder winning £195m in July.

That lucky player was not identified but in May, Gloucester couple Joe and Jess Thwaite decided to reveal themselves as the winners of £184m.

They spoke to reporters about the shock and disbelief they felt when they found out they had won what was then Britain’s biggest lottery win.

UK ticket-holder stakes claim for biggest ever £195m jackpot in EuroMillions draw | UK News

A UK ticket-holder has staked a claim for the biggest ever £195m jackpot after Tuesday’s EuroMillions draw, Camelot said.

The £195,707,000 jackpot reached its cap after no one scooped the top prize in Friday night’s draw.

The claim will undergo a series of checks to ensure its validity before the windfall is paid.

Camelot said no information will be released on whether the claimant is an individual or a syndicate winner, or where the ticket was purchased unless the ticket-holder decides to go public.

Andy Carter, Camelot’s senior winners’ adviser at the National Lottery, said: “This is absolutely incredible news.”

The winning numbers were 06, 23, 37, 40, 41 and the Lucky Stars were 02 and 12.

Only 15 people in the UK have ever won more than £100m, putting the latest winners in elite company.

What can you buy for £195.7m?

Unsurprisingly, £195.7m goes a long way.

Despite a sharp rise in property prices this year, the winnings will still net a respectable 696 houses, based on the latest average.

Or how about a private jet?

This one lucky winner will be able to take three friends flying in style – all in separate aircraft with four Gulfstream G550 planes.

The massive sum would also buy 23 Pisces-VI Submarines, Southampton Football Club or a townhouse in London’s Mayfair, complete with a steam room and plunge pool, cinema room and fully-equipped chef’s kitchen.

It also means they would be richer than Adele (worth £150m).

Tuesday’s lucky ticketholder will also surpass previous record-winners Joe and Jess Thwaite, a couple from Gloucester, who revealed their identities after winning £184m on the EuroMillions back in May.
